The body’s need for water greatly depends on the foods we eat. Wrong foods, foods that are harder to process due to the waste they inherently contain and the stimulation they cause within the body, need greater amounts of water. This is to help meet the higher needs for digestive fluids as the water is used to help clear simulations, pass waste and toxins out through the kidneys. But good foods, foods that help remove waste and toxins from the body, are processed more readily and with lower water demands. The need for water during digestion is lower in thanks to the ease with which good foods are digested, they also replenish the body's water supply to a much greater extent.
Fruits among the good foods skip the stomach requiring even less water. They also contain higher amounts of fructose that converts readily to glucose a wonderful ingredient used in ATP production and allows for greater needed healthy oxidation that helps pull out the toxins. Green leafy veggies may not skip the belly like fruits but vegetables will capture and sweep the leftover waste out of your body from your stomach and intestinal tract assisting in better nutritional absorption.
Some foods that you may think are good foods like fruits that are fatty (Avocados, Durian and coconuts) and starchy fruits (bananas and plantains) are part of the wrong food family. This seems to be missed or unknown amongst some raw vegan fruitarians who may live on low water intake. They may believe they are fine due to the raw fruits and vegetables they consume not aware to take into account the fatty and starchy raw fruits.
If your body does not have enough water your kidneys and heart will greatly suffer over long periods and can go unnoticed until it's too late. With Robert Lockhart's passing this became more clear than ever as his death was attributed to excessive strain on the kidneys and heart due to his low water intake while living a raw vegan fruitarian lifestyle.
The take away is if your thirsty drink clean fresh water from a safe source, your body knows best and will thank you. Also, keep in mind the more wrong foods you eat the more water your body will crave. Drink up but when you are thirsty. Next time I’ll talk about the overconsumption of water which is an even bigger problem than dehydration.

Many factors go into how much water our body needs to function properly. Some in the Raw Vegan, Mucusless and Fruitarian groups believe that you can go with little to no extra water due to hydration from fresh raw fruits and vegetables. But there is a bit more to it.
